RAQUEL SERRANO

Ms. Raquel Serrano is passionate about the Rochester community and the world, particularly inspired by the progress and growth of the Latino community at large. Over the last 25 years, she has developed healthy relationships with key individuals in the non-profit, private, religious, and governmental arenas. She considers herself to be well-rounded, a connector with a keen understanding of critical needs for management, organization, and networking.

Raquel Serrano is the Director for Elderly Services for Ibero American Action League, Inc. Her dedication, charisma, cultural awareness, and connectivity with the Rochester community has proven to be instrumental in doubling the attendance and therapeutic activities at the Centro de Oro  in one year’s time. Her program has received the acclaim of the Avangrid Foundation in partnership with RG&E as well as the Monroe County Office for the Aging.

On a volunteer-basis, Ms. Serrano is the Director for the Rochester Youth Association — an organization that has served to catapult youth from diverse backgrounds to the mission field. She organizes yearly youth rallies with the support and collaboration of area colleges such as Roberts Wesleyan College, Houghton College and Elim Bible Institute and College.

Ms. Serrano is an Ordained Pastor through the Hands Global Fellowship Alliance. She is also a member of their Government Leadership Team where she travels locally and globally as an interpreter and as a guest speaker.

Raquel also serves as a Chaplain through the International Federation of Chaplains & Human Rights, Inc. She genuinely loves people and learning about new cultures. Besides her interpersonal skills, she also enjoys journalism. She has a keen eye for editing and social media management.

Ms. Serrano is an alumni of the United Way Latino Leadership Program and is currently undertaking a Gerontology Certificate through Lifespan and St. John Fisher College. She serves on the Boards of Medical Motors, the Rochester Youth Association and Latinas Unidas. She was recently selected to serve in the Citizen's Advisory Council for the Monroe County Department of Social Services.

She takes pride in advocating for the elderly, helping youth connect to their full potential and supporting women locally and globally.
