Maricela Guzman is currently the Associate Director of Patient Access, Ambulatory, University of Rochester Medical Center. She has a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Research. She has over 20 years of health care experience working in the area of management and operation improvement. Ms. Guzman’s career at the U of R Medical Center began in 2000, where she was a unit secretary supporting two Cardiologists. Today, she oversees patient access in all ambulatory arenas. Her broad understanding of the healthcare field is what URMC needs to maintain its position at the forefront of excellence.

Ms. Guzman has worked with a diverse range of individuals, including clinicians and certified professionals. Her focus has expanded from the front-line management to the operation improvement area, which encompasses the essential daily activities driving operation performance in virtually every health care organization today.

Ms. Guzman is a co-author of several research papers and proposals that pertains to Women and Cardiovascular Disease. Her hobbies are keeping up with her four children, roller-skating, exploring different cuisines and community involvement with a focus in children with special needs/development disabilities, an area that touches her personally.
