Annette Ramos is a well-versed and committed arts leader who has worn many hats throughout her career, receiving numerous awards for her work with children and named Latinas Unidas Reconocimiento Award Leadership Achievement Awardee for 2014 and recipient of the Hispanicize Positive Impact 2014 Award, a National recognition of Latinos doing remarkable deeds.
Annette continues to be engaged with community initiatives like La Cumbre where she advocates to unite Latino/a Artist moving forward the vision of a Rochester Latino Arts & Cultural Center by embracing a “community engagement” model creating the info-structure to sustain such a vision. Being able to inspire children through art is what she is most vehement about – giving children and young artists a place to learn and grow in the arts.
As a bilingual educator, Ms. Ramos has devoted her career to ensuring equitable educational and artistic opportunities for emergent bilingual learners from around the world. It is her mission to utilize her leadership skills to advocate for greater opportunities for Latino students
Annette is energized by her love for the arts and humanities and her desire to find creative and dynamic ways to bring these to the public. For the past three decades, she has carried out these interests through her work with community arts organizations dedicated to issues of education, creative practice, youth empowerment, Latino/a history and performing arts. Annette Cofounded the Rochester Latino Theatre Company, Inc where she continues to mentor and support local Latino Artists. Ms. Ramos provides leadership in Youth centered programs, management and administration for Young Audiences of Rochester as Manager of Community Engagement.
